Interior details in driver´s cab. Sprung pantographs. Current pick-up from the rails or overhead catenary. Cast metal chassis. Motor with flywheel. With standard NEM 651 socket for installation of a decoder. Drive on 8 wheels, of which 2 are fitted with traction tyres. Current pick-up on all axles. Triple LED-headlights at each end, co-ordinated with the direction of travel. Automatic couplings at each end. Slot-guide mechanism at each end for true close coupling by using the PROFI-coupling 9545 (delivered with standard couplings). Standard NEM 355 coupling socket. Epoch IV.
The first exmples of a total of 20 locos of the 1010 class were delivered in 1955 to the ÖBB (Austrian Railways) by the firm of Simmering-Graz-Pauker (SGP). The 6-axled locos weighed 110 tons, developed 5.400 horsepower and were used on various routes with a top speed of 130 km/h. The 1020 finished their career in high speed service on the Arlberg line. In the middle of the 1960´s, several locos were stationed in Salzburg and their train hauling duties saw them travel over the DB network as far as Munich and Frankfurt.
