Product Info

The first of the DF4D Class Co-Co locomotives was built in 1999 by the Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Company, who developed the high speed suspension bogie in the conjunction with South West Jiaotong University. After appraisal by the Ministry of Railways. 340 locomotives were ordered in 2001 with the last being delivered in 2007. The DF4D Class are equipped with the 16V240ZJD diesel engine which provides 4,000 hp for high speed passenger running at speeds up to thte maximum of 170 km/h. These locomotives carry Chinese National Railways red and cream livery and are numbered in the series 3001 -  3340.
